GENERAL Membership:

To be eligible for General Membership in the Association, one must:

• be licensed to practice law;
• be a member in good standing (i.e., not on probation or suspended) with the Texas Bar; 
• adhere to the Association’s Mission and Values Statements;
• and pay annual dues.

To be eligible for General Membership in the Association, one must not:

• represent, be affiliated with a law firm where any of its attorneys represent, or serve as an expert witness for, insurance companies, corporations, utility companies, health plans, defendants, and/or defense attorneys in actions filed by individuals seeking damages for personal injuries;
• represent, be affiliated with a law firm where any of its attorneys represent, or serve as an expert witness for, insurance companies, health insurers, workers compensation insurers, hospitals, ERISA plans, disability plans, or other statutory or contractual lienholders or holders of contractual reimbursement/subrogation interests which seek recovery or reimbursement in personal injury cases; or
• be an employee of the executive branch of the state or federal government.
• Notwithstanding, any Member, who occasionally engages in such prohibited work as outlined in subsections (the first two listed) of this Section or is affiliated with a law firm where any of its attorneys represent such excluded clients, has an affirmative duty and obligation to report such information to the Executive Committee and agrees not to participate on or have access to the DTLA Listserv unless and until a waiver is granted by the Executive Committee pursuant to the DTLA Listserv Agreement.

This exclusion does not apply to the attorneys hired by the personal injury claimant who, incident to their representation of their individual clients, must address any liens or subrogation/reimbursement interests.

E-Mail Listserv and Web site access is only granted to Regular Attorney Members in good standing.

DTLA Annual Membership dues are based on when the lawyer was licensed. Our annual membership year runs from January - December.

0 – 3 years     $75 
4-10 years     $150
11+ years      $200

Members who join in October pay full price membership dues and are rolled “into and through” the entire following year.
